Start 'em young!

A week or so ago my sister wrote a funny post about Sonic here.
This picture from today at the splash park made me realize that I love Sonic and am instilling that in Hadley.

Here are a few other pictures from the splash park.

80's Fun

On Friday night, our family club had its monthly mom's night out. It was an 80's themed, picture scavenger hunt. What a fun time! My good friend Katy and I decided it would be fun to go dressed in 80s gear. So off we went to the mall and Burlington Coat Factory with 3 kids in tow. Katy has a 4 year old and 10 1/2 month old. Shopping was fun and we laughed the whole time. In the end these were our outfits.

The scavenger hunt was a blast. We had 4 teams of 2 people each. Katy and I were a team because we refused to be seen without each other, since we looked a little goofy. We headed to Vintage Stock and were able to get a lot of pictures there. At one point Katy was break dancing in the middle of the store.

We also went to Party City and took a lot of pictures of 80s things. Like this wonderful mullet wig that Katy is modeling.

One of the clues asked for a picture of us fighting over a Cabbage Patch Kid. Katy was prepared and had one in the back of the car.

I think on of the funniest things was asking a group of guys to help us out at Barnes and Noble. They were studying in the cafe area. I needed a picture of tight rolled jeans. So I asked on of the guys if he would tight roll his jeans. He didn't know what that was so I had to show him.

We had a great time, even though we lost in a tie breaker. Katy should have gotten extra points because I was only 10 when the 80s ended. Oh well, it was all about the fun and the looks we got from everyone.

Happy Anniversary!

Flashback Friday

Trip down memory lane. A week ago we met Mike's mom at Old Chicago to eat. This is where Mike and I met. That got me thinking about our dating days. Every summer there is a Mustang car show in Tulsa. Mike has a love for Mustangs and even has one that he used to drag race. The first 2 summers we were dating a big group of us would come to Tulsa for the car show. It was nice for all of Mike's friends to be able to crash at his place. It was always a great time. This year Mike was able to go to the drag races with his good friend John. The car show was on Father's Day so he went to that by himself. He said that was a great way to spend his day. I think he meant it was great to not have me along asking questions. Here are a few pictures from when we would go to the car show.

Sprinkler = Fun... you would think

Here is the cute sprinkler mat that I got Hadley. I thought that she would love it on a hot day.

Here is where she thinks it is going to be fun and runs to it...

She touches it....

And runs away.

And that is the end of the sprinkler fun at our house. There is always next time.

Picking Blackberries

This morning Hadley and I went to pick blackberries at Toomey's Berry Farm. We had a great time. We went with our family club and met about 9am. They open at 7am and said they were pretty much picked over by 8am. But that didn't stop our little ones. They were hunting like crazy for the all black ones. Well, Hadley was having more fun eating them. She would come and grab the bucket from me sit in the middle of the row and start eating. She was covered from head to toe when we left. I had to strip her down to her diaper for the ride home. The owners asked to take a picture because she was so covered in berry juice. It was a great time and I recommend berry picking for everyone.

Weekend Away

We spent this past weekend in Kansas with family. We had a great time. We picked my brother up at the airport and headed to my dad's. We hung out there for awhile and then went to meet Mike's mom at Old Chicago for dinner. Old Chicago is one of my favorite places to eat and the place that Mike and I met.

On Saturday we hung out by the pool at my dad and Terry's. It was a fun and relaxing day. Hadley wasn't sure of the water at first but by the end she was having fun.

On Sunday, my mom fixed us a fabulous lunch. My Granny and Grandpa came down. It was a great time. Then we headed back to the real world. Hadley is cutting her two top teeth so she is a little cranky and very clingy. I hope they pop thru soon.

Here are some pics from the weekend.

Flashback Friday

Today's flashback Friday is all about my younger brother Jordan. I say younger because he is not little. He is 6' 4" and towers over me. Jordan lives in Arizona with his wife and 2 kiddos. He is coming to visit today and I can't wait. I haven't seen him since Christmas.

I can remember the day we went to visit the hospital after Jordan was born. I was very excited to have a little brother. In fact it is one of the first memories I have. I was almost 3 when he was born. I have lots of memories of playing cars, GI Joes and camping with Jordan. When we were younger we would pretend the stairs were a mountain and go hiking up them. It was always a good time.

Jordan is always good for a laugh. I think he really enjoys making fun of me :) I have learned that is his way of showing me how much he loves me. It has been great to see him grow into a man, husband and father. He really loves his family and would do anything to make sure they are healthy and happy.

Thanks Jordan for being a great brother, I love you!

Shoes, a girl's best friend :)

Hadley has a new best friend, one of my purple Crocs. She carries it or wears it all over the house. If you try to put it away she throws a fit. What a diva :) She has her own pair of Crocs but they are a little big. I tried giving her those, she would have none of that. What a crazy girl.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Grandma! I love you!
