Cuddle time

One night last week Hadley wasn't feeling well.  She spent part of the evening cuddling with her daddy.  He was in heaven because Hadley usually doesn't stop long enough to cuddle :)

Donut Friday

We have been having Donut Fridays at our house.  Just a little something to look forward to each week.  This morning we decided to eat outside while it was still somewhat cool out.  After enjoying our breakfast we played outside for a little bit but by 8am it was getting too hot and we headed inside.
Yummy!
Time for chalk.
After time outside we decided it was time for a bubble bath.
We spent the rest of the day inside out of the heat.  Tonight Mike and Hadley headed to the Tulsa Shock basketball game.  The Shock are Tulsa's WNBA team.  I hope they are having a great time.  We don't have big plans for the weekend, just spending time together.

Visit with family

This last Friday and Saturday we made a quick visit to Kansas.  Mike's oldest sister Tammy and her son Thanasi were in town from Baltimore.  We headed up Friday morning and met Tammy, Thanasi, and Marlene for lunch.  We then headed to our hotel and let the kids swim.  Hadley and Thanasi hadn't seen each other in a year but you would have thought they were best friends.  They had a great time.  That night we took pizza out to Marlene's and let the kids play.
The kids didn't want to eat they wanted to get right to playing.
Time for some Dora Bingo
We got the girls ready for bed before we headed back to the hotel.  I forgot a nightgown for Hadley so a t-shirt of daddy's had to work.
On Saturday we headed to Exploration Place.  The kids enjoyed it.  Jillian was our tour guide.
Daddy and Hadley learning something.
Thanasi hard at work.

More pictures of the fun.
We had a great visit.

So cool...

Sometimes a girl is so cool she has to wear her glasses inside.

Frosting cookies

When I was a kid I remember my mom taking two graham crackers and putting chocolate frosting in between them.  I loved them.  Especially on the day after she made them, because the frosting made the crackers softer.  The other day I made some for the girls and they loved them.  You can see from the mess they made.

Still here...

Yes we are still alive and kicking here.  Life has just been busy!  Seems like each time I start to think I will have time to relax and blog we plan something else.  I am sure it will just get busier and busier as the girls get older.  I also have not been taking very many pictures lately.  We have been swimming a few times and I was not about to take my camera to the pool while chasing 2 little ones.
I do have a few pictures of the girls from this morning.  We had Jillian's 15 month check-up and I thought I would take a few pictures before we left.  Her check-up was fine. She weighs 21 lbs 3 oz and is 31 3/4 inches long.  She did have to get 3 shots and this is the age I hate it the most.  She really screamed and cried.  I shed a few tears myself.  I thought it would be easier with the second kid but not so much.

And here is a shot of Hadley at 15 months.  I love to compare their pictures.

Fun in the Sun

Last week we got a lot of rain. We took advantage of no rain one morning and played in the pool and sprinklers.  We even left it out thinking we would go back out after nap.  As soon as the girls were down for naps a thunderstorm blew in.  They were disappointed when they got up.  But it is hot this week and I see more pool and sprinkler time in our future.

What fun in being outside without a popsicle to enjoy.

When mommy and daddy are gone...

Last weekend Mike and I were able to get away alone.  You heard me right ALONE!!!  I mean not one child with me.  It was long over due.  It had been almost 2 years since we had been gone overnight alone not counting the hospital stay when Jillian was born.  We went to Oklahoma City and stayed in Bricktown.  We went to 4 movies, ate out and just relaxed and enjoyed being together.  It was a very relaxing weekend.
Lady came to stay with the girls.  The girls had a blast and I think they wore Lady out.  I did not take the camera with me so no pictures from our trip.  Lady took some pictures of the girls while we were gone.
Funny story about the shirt Hadley is wearing in the next picture.  It is one of the old t-shirts I sleep in.  One night last week we could not get Hadley to settle down and go to sleep.  She was throwing a huge fit and wanted me to sleep with her.  I finally asked her if she wanted to sleep with the shirt I was wearing.  She said yes and settled down.  She has slept with it ever since.  I guess she decided to wear it as well.
Hadley had a birthday party to go to on Saturday at Bounce U.  Lady took her while a babysitter stayed with Jillian.  I thought it would be some great one on one time for Lady and Hadley.  Hadley had a blast.
Thanks Lady for watching the girls.  They miss you and want you to come back!

4th of July Weekend

Why does it take one day to pack and get ready for a trip but 2 or 3 to get unpacked and back into your routine?  You would think I would have a better handle on coming home from Kansas but traveling just flat out makes this momma tired.  And that people is why it has taken me a few days to blog about our weekend.

Last Friday we loaded up and headed to Kansas for the weekend.  First stop was Winfield to see Lady and Uncle Alex.  Papa had to work so we didn't get to see him :(  We went to dinner and then played at the park.  It was the perfect evening to be outside.
That night we headed to Belle Plaine to Grandpa Kent and Grandma Terry's.  We had plans on swimming most of the weekend but the weather had other plans.  It rained most of the weekend.  On Saturday we went into Wichita to do a little shopping.  We met up with Granny, Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Mark for dinner.
On Sunday, 4th of July we spent the day with Grandpa and Grandma.  In the afternoon Uncle J, Auntie Cammie, Brennen and Brylee came over.  Uncle J was in charge of fireworks and he did a great job.  We all had fun.  I think Hadley loved the fireworks the best and didn't want them to end.
My attempt at a picture of the girls together in their 4th of July dresses did not goes as planned.
So we went for individuals.
Brylee and Jillian had matching dresses but I could not get a picture of them together either.
The only picture I could get of Brennen was outside.
Jillian and her Uncle J who she loves.
The men and their firecrackers.
Hadley got to fetch the parachute.
Jillian wasn't a fan of the loud noises but loved the bubbles with Grandma.
Somehow this is the only picture of Grandpa.
It was a fun weekend!
