Our Cheerleader

Last Friday Hadley was invited to a friend's Halloween party.  She talked about it all day and couldn't wait to go.  So after dinner we got her in her costume and headed to the party.  I didn't take my camera to the party but here is a picture from before we left.
I think she makes a cute cheerleader!

Girly or Tomboy???

Jillian is starting to really show her personality these days.  She knows what she wants but we just can't always understand her.  Sometimes I see a lot of similarities between her and Hadley and other times they are so different.  I am holding out hope that Jillian is a little bit of a tomboy like I was.  I am not sure that is possible if she continues to want to do everything her girly-girl sister does :)
However when she dresses up she has a little tomboy mixed in with girly.

She will be a cute tomboy or girly-girl.

Go check out my sister's family pictures.  They are wonderful.

Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday we met up with a group of friends and headed to a pumpkin patch.  We had never been to this particular patch before and we loved it.  We will be going back next year.  They had a hay rack ride out to the pumpkin field and a big pumpkin play land.  The play area had lots of different activities to keep the kids busy.
On the ride to the pumpkin field.

Here is the pumpkin the girls picked out.
The girls loved running through all of the pumpkins.

Jillian enjoyed digging in the corn.
These cars kept the kiddos busy.

Good thing this horse wasn't real or we would have never gotten Hadley on it.

We had a great time with all of our friends.  Now for the fun of carving the pumpkin with daddy.

Day at home

We managed to have a morning this week that we did not have to go anywhere.  It was great!  I took some pictures of the girls throughout the morning.

Pretending to nap is as close as Hadley gets to napping these days.

 Time to play!

Then it is time to hide from mom in the closet.

Hadley picked out what bows she wanted to wear.
Jillian likes to have her hair just like Hadley's.
 Time for snack.
Time to put make-up on little sister.

It was a fun morning at home.

New baby

I am a BFE aunt again!  My dear friend Megan had baby #2 on Sunday.  His name is Callum John.  He will be called Cal.  I am happy to report that mom and baby are both doing well.  I can't wait to hold him in a couple of weeks.  I am sure his big sister Norah Kate is loving having a baby in the family!

Always remember... (Jillian edition)

Just a few things that I don't want to forget about Jillian at almost 18 months.
  • She wants to do everything Hadley does.  I love to watch her watching Hadley and then trying to do the same thing.  It is so cute.
  • She is in love with her "bel but" (belly button).  It is a comfort thing for her to pull up her shirt and play with her belly button.  You will know when she is tired or uneasy because she starts playing with her belly button.  I can't dress her in onesies anymore because she gets mad that she can't get to her belly button.
  • She loves to bring you and book and says, "ree" (read).  This all started after Sophia visited and did the same thing.
  • She is deathly afraid of dogs.  If she hears one barking she comes running and is usually shaking.  It doesn't help that we got new neighbors that have dogs that bark nonstop.
  • She has to sleep with her pillow pet that is a ladybug.  She calls is bug-bug.
  • She will eat about anything you put in front of her.  She really likes to eat whatever mom and dad are trying to eat and only from our fork or spoon.
  • She does not like to be barefoot outside.
  • She loves to brush teeth and will run for the bathroom anytime you say teeth.
  • She runs to the bathroom and says "pot" (potty), anytime we asked Hadley if she has to go to the bathroom.
  • She loves to cuddle right after she wakes up in the morning or after nap.
  • She goes running for the door yelling "da-da" the minute she hears Mike get home.
  • She is adorable and we love her more and more each day!

When mommy and daddy are gone.

Here are some pictures of what goes on when we leave the girls with Grandma and Grandpa.
They get to take trips to the zoo.
Grandpa helps Jillian ride a horse.
 Hadley practices her bull riding.
 A picnic at the zoo.
They go to the park and ride a purple dinosaur.
Hadley helps pick, peel and slice apples.
I think they had a great time.  What do you think?

Weekend

We started our weekend on Thursday last week.  We left the girls with Grandma Terry and Grandpa Kent and headed to Manhattan for the K-State/Nebraska game.  We started our tailgate at 3pm and it was a beautiful afternoon.  Unfortunately, the hours before the game were the best of the day.  Once the game started out attitudes slowly began to get worse and worse.  We went into this game knowing that Nebraska was the #7 team in the nation but we also thought we could at least play them close.  We left the game knowing why they were the #7 team and why we weren't.  The final score was 44-13, ouch!  Besides the loss we had a great time with friends.

On Friday, Mike and I spent most of the day shopping and enjoying Manhattan.  We had lunch with one of Mike's friends.  It was nice just to spend the day together.  We went back to my dad's that night and were excited to see the girls.  They had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa.  Their days included the zoo, a picnic, a park and apple picking.  They were two worn out girls when we got there and slept in until 8am the next morning.  This is unheard of for our girls.  On Saturday we had lunch with Mike's mom and then headed home.
Here are a few pictures of the girls in their new Halloween pjs that Grandma and Grandpa gave them.

Weekly Round-up

I think I may have to start calling this the weekly round-up blog.  I seem to only find time about once a week to upload pictures, edit, and write a post.  Things seem to get busier and busier all the time.  This past week we had something everyday and usually 2 or 3 things.  It was a fun filled week and weekend.
One day last week I told Hadley I wanted a picture of her and this is what she did.
Is she a diva or what?  Of course I couldn't leave Jillian out.
One morning last week we made a stop at the park before going to the store.

On Friday Hadley had school pictures.  I tried to get a few pictures of her and Jillian before school.  These two pictures sum up what happened.

I did get a couple of them individually.

Friday afternoon was our town's homecoming parade.  Hadley's dance academy had a float and we rode on it.  She loved waving at everyone.  Here we are before we left.
Waiting for the parade to start.
 Waving at the crowds.
Hadley and one of her best friends, Reagan.
 Reagan and her mom, Katy.
 Our biggest fan, Jillian.
On Saturday we headed to Oklahoma City to see Thomas the Train.  Hadley really enjoyed the activities and riding the train.  Jillian was fussy most of the time.  I thought it was because she didn't get all of her nap but now I am pretty sure it was the 2 molars that popped through this morning.
On the train ride we rode in the top of the caboose.

 Meeting Sir Topham Hatt.
A picture with Percy, one of Hadley's favorite engines.
We went to church on Sunday and spent the rest of the day relaxing.  As Sunday went on Hadley started complaining of a sore throat.  By this morning she was without a voice and sick.  She spent almost the whole day on the couch.  Jillian had a rough day as well.  She is having a really hard time with getting her molars in.  Hopefully they both wake up in the morning feeling better. We have another busy week and weekend ahead of us.
