Still alive and kicking...

I know it has been awhile since my last post. We are still alive and kicking but trying to get over some very nasty head colds and climb out from under a mountain of new toys. I promise to post lots of pictures in the next couple of days. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve. Happy New Year to all!

21 weeks

I am 21 weeks pregnant so that means I am over half way done. The baby is the size of a carrot this week. I think I look like I have a bushel of carrots in my belly :) Everything is going well. Just a few aches and pains here and there. Nothing I can't deal with.

Here is a 21 week picture.

Saturday Morning

Here are a few of the things Hadley likes to do on Saturday mornings.

Iced in for Day number 2

We have been hit by ice that will not melt. I don't mind the snow but I refuse to drive on ice. Some call me a baby, I just like to be safe. That means we have been stuck inside for the last 2 days. Here is how Hadley keeps busy on ice days...

Rock baby

Make lunch for baby

Feed baby

Cuddle with baby

Get ready to go someplace, keys and all
Take Baby Jesus from his parents for the 100th time

How do you keep busy on your ice and snow days?

19 months

I am finally getting around to writing Hadley's 19 month post, just about a week before she hits 20 months. Probably because this month has been a tantrum filled month. That being said it has been getting better and when she is good, she is really good. I am still amazed everyday by the new things she can do and say.
She is beginning to pretend play a lot more. She loves to make food in her kitchen and bring it for Mike and I to eat. She also loves to play mommy to her doll. This is so much fun to watch. Just yesterday, she buckled her baby in the high chair and was feeding her. I think she might be hired for when the new baby comes :)
Her vocabulary is growing daily if not hourly. I can't even begin to list all of the new words.
She is in love with Dora and hates that mommy and daddy will not let her watch Dora 24/7.
She still has a huge fear of the doctor's office and screams even when my name gets called at the OBGYN. Poor thing. Hopefully she will out grow that soon!
19 months is one of those ages that I love and dislike at the same time. I love to watch all the new things but hate to have the tantrums pop up when I least expect them. But we will take the good and the bad and be thankful for what a wonderful daughter we have!

Baby #2 at 20 weeks

Today we had our 20 week appointment and ultrasound. Everything looks great! The doctor said the baby is growing and developing just like he wants! The heartbeat was 155 beats per minute. We got lots of good pictures of baby but he/she was moving around like crazy.
Here are some of the ultrasound pics. And no we did not find out what we are having. I am going to guess a boy, but I also thought that with Hadley :)

Ho, Ho, NO!!!

Last night Santa came to visit at church. As we were getting ready to drive there I was talking to Hadley about Santa being there. She said, "Ho, Ho, Ho" the whole way there. Then it cam time for a picture.....

As you can see it did not goes as well as last year,Maybe next year will be better. Now when you ask Hadley what Santa says, she says, "Ho, Ho, NO!"

Thousand Words Thursday

Here is a picture of Hadley at our "Happy Birthday Jesus Party" last year. It was her first time seeing Santa. We will be doing it again on Sunday and I am sure I will have pictures.

Sugar Cookies

I decided it was time to start the tradition of making sugar cookies with Hadley. Something I knew I would always do with my kiddos. We had a great time and made it into a 2 day event. One day for baking and one day for decorating. We did easy decoration with frosting and sprinkles this year. Hadley seemed to enjoy it and really liked eating the finished project :)

Here is my little baker waiting to start.

She loved playing with the flour.

I don't know if there will be any sprinkles left...

Testing the product.

The finished product.

Things you shouldn't say to a pregnant woman!

"Wow, you look like you could go into labor anytime." - said to me by the lady at the nursing home after I gave her a Christmas gift!

"Are you sure you are not having twins."- I have heard that numerous times.

"Wow, you are going to have one big baby." - said to me by a lady where a used to work

This list is sure to grow...

The tree is up!

We finally got the tree up this weekend. We had quite a tantrum filled weekend so it was hard to find a great time to put it up. You will notice that Hadley is not wearing a shirt in the pictures, a battle I was not willing to fight.

We tried to do some pictures by the tree before church. The lighting was bad. But here are a couple that turned out.

Bad mom!

This is where I admit that some days I am a bad mom. Like yesterday when Hadley was still in her pajamas at lunch and stayed in them until about 5pm. The only reason I changed her is she really wanted her shoes on :)
Here is a picture of her eating lunch in her jammies. It didn't help that we were both fighting colds and wanted to cuddle most of the day.

On the good mom front we have started decorating for Christmas. No tree yet, but that will be done by the end of the weekend.

I put out a Little People Nativity Scene and Hadley loves it. So much so that Baby Jesus is just Baby G at our house. Wonder what she will call Mary and Joseph?

Thanksgiving

Wow, what a busy Thanksgiving holiday. We headed to Kansas on Wednesday afternoon and it was go, go, go until we got home Sunday afternoon. We were able to see lots of family and friends and eat a ton of food.
On Thursday, Mike went hunting and Hadley and I headed to my dad's for Thanksgiving lunch. That evening we had Thanksgiving dinner at Mike's mom's. Hadley and I were stuffed by the end of the day.

Friday, Mike went hunting in the morning and Hadley and I relaxed. That night we were able to get together with some good friends who now live in Nebraska.

Saturday was Thanksgiving at my mom's and dinner with Audra and Megan.
Sunday we packed up and headed home. Needless to say we have been getting back into the groove of things and trying to catch up on laundry. Now it is time for Christmas decorations.
Here are some pictures from the weekend.
This is what too much Turkey (or mac and cheese) will do to you:
Thanksgiving at my mom's. It was a small group this year.

We do let the cook eat...

Brennen is happy to be back in Kansas!

This is what Hadley thought about turkey.

Hadley telling Brylee how it is done.

Brylee enjoying being in Kansas with her Grandlady!

Hadley enjoying time with her Auntie Cammie.

Mike and I, tired and stuffed! No that is not the shirt I started the day in. But when you are preggo sometimes you need a shirt with a little more stretch.

Avery and Alex enjoying time with cousins!

Mike's feeling after spending so many days with family!

Drew and Avery after the KU win. Sorry I was hoping for the Tigers to win.
