Friday was a beautiful day here. Mike had to make an up and back trip to Kansas so the girls and I needed something to keep us busy into the evening. We decided to go the zoo. We hadn't been in about a year and the girls were very excited.
Before we left I told the girls that they could take some money from their piggy banks to buy something in the gift shop. Hadley said, " No mom I want to keep my money, we can just use your money to buy me something." I could not keep a straight face. I finally convinced her to take some money just in case she wanted something and of course she did. She bought a stuffed giraffe and a book. Jillian bought a water bottle and a book.
We had a great time seeing animals, playing at the playground, eating ice cream, and riding the carousel. We were all tired when we left.
Here are the few pictures I got while we were there.
Last Thursday Hadley had her first soccer practice. She has been talking about playing soccer for the last few months and couldn't wait to get started. She is playing in a 3 and 4 year old indoor league at the YMCA. She was a little shy to start practice but only took about 2 or 3 minutes to warm up and then she loved it. When she would get the ball in the goal or hit the cone she would turn around and smile as big as she could. It was so much fun to watch. When we left practice she asked if she could play soccer everyday. She also said her coach was awesome (it is a grandfather of one of the little girls on her team).
Here are some pictures before we headed to practice.
This last picture has to be one of my favorite pictures. I love Jillian's face in it.
Last week was Spring Break for Hadley. The girls and I decided to spend part of the break in Kansas. We had not been back since the beginning of January. We left on Wednesday after lunch and went to Lady's house. It was not Spring Break there yet so Lady was still working when we got there. But Papa, Aunt Eryn and Ethan were there when we got there. The girls and Ethan got right to work playing and running around outside.
My mom watched the girls on Wednesday night so I could go to Wichita with some friends. We went out to eat and to a kid's clothing consignment sale. It was a great time and I was so glad to be in town to go with them.
Thursday we slept in (7:15am) and had a lazy morning. Then we headed over to my Grandpa's for a visit and lunch. My dad met us there but Terry had a meeting so we only got to see her for a few minutes. It was St. Patrick's day so Grandpa had to break out the green hat.
Thursday afternoon Audra had to take Caroline to an appointment so Lydia got to come play with us. It was great for the girls to get the extra playtime together. We played inside while Jillian napped and then headed to the park and enjoyed the nice weather.

I loved spending a little extra time with Lydia. She loves to ask questions and is a very sweet girl.
On Friday morning Audra hosted a little playdate. It was fun to have all 7 of the BFE kiddos together and also fun to get to chat with the girls. We had cake in honor of Caroline's 1st birthday.
Jillian really took to Lydia.
Hadley obviously has a love for driving. Look out world.
I loved getting to cuddle with this cutie, Callum.
Norah Kate and Barrett did a little cooking for us
Lady was off that day so we spent the afternoon hanging out with her. She introduced Hadley to the Sound of Music. It is now one of Hadley's favorites and she loves singing the songs. Lady even got the guitar out and played while Hadley sang.
Friday evening we headed out to my Granny and Grandpa's house. We had a very nice visit.

We spent Saturday morning relaxing at my mom's. Jillian got me up at 4:45am so Lady watched the girls while I took a mid-morning nap. Jordan, Cammie and the kids came over for lunch (sorry no pictures). Then it was time to pack up and head back to Oklahoma. We had a great time but it is always nice to get home.
This last weekend was a fun and busy one. It all started on Friday around lunch when Roiann and Audra got here from Kansas. Jillian and Hadley were very excited to have guests and got busy playing with them right away. Mike came home a little early that day so that Audra, Roi and I could go do a little shopping and go out for dinner. We headed to the mall and did some shopping and then to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Here we are waiting to be seated for dinner.

We had a good dinner and then did some more shopping at Kohl's and Target. It was a great time of laughing and having fun. This was a much needed girls night and we had so much fun.
One of the main reasons for Audra and Roiann's trip down here was the St. Patrick's Day 5K. Audra and I had decided to run our first 5K together and Roiann came to be our cheerleader and photographer. Saturday morning Mike took the girls out for donuts and the park while we headed to the race. My only goal of the day was to finish and not finish last. I really knew that I would not finish last but I wanted to finish and run the entire way. I did finish but had to walk for about a minute. That was after I twisted my ankle in a hole. I had to laugh when it happened because the last thing Mike said to me as I left was,"Don't fall or break anything." He seems to think I am clumsy. I am happy to say I finished and beat my goal time by 4 minutes. Audra did great and was right on her goal time! A 5Kwas on my list of things to do and I am so glad I could do it with one of my best friends. Thanks Audra for running with me. And thanks to Roi for cheering us on!
Here we are before the race.
Some how Audra and I missed the memo that said wear green tutus.
Here we are after the race. I didn't realize how red my face gets when I run.

After the race we headed home to clean up. Next up was pedicures, lunch and a little more shopping. Then the girls had to head back to Kansas. Thanks girls for an awesome weekend. We must do it again soon.
The weekend didn't end there. Saturday night we had our monthly dinner with our Sunday School class. This is a night we really enjoy every month. We drop the kids off at the church to play and we get to go to dinner with friends. The youth help with watching the kids to earn money for camps and trips.
On Sunday we went to church, took naps and then headed to Sesame Street Live. The girls loved it. They both danced and had fun. We were 3rd row on the floor so the girls got to hug some of the characters. I wasn't sure if they would want to. When I took Hadley when she was 23 months old she would not go near the characters but this time both girls had no fear. At one point the characters were doing some of their dance on the floor and Hadley was headed up to join them. We had to stop her. She wanted to go on stage too. Super Grover lost his super power and couldn't fly during the show. He kept trying to fly and then would fall down. Jillian thought this was hilarious and squealed each time this happened. It was a great way to end our busy weekend.
Spring break is this week so we are relaxing and enjoying not having any activities.
I am a stay at home mom to 2 amazing girls, Hadley Elizabeth and Jillian Ruth and a wonderful little boy, Trenton Michael. I am married to my best friend Mike. This is a blog to give you a little look at our adventure we call life!
