Day 1 of visitors

I am finally finished going through all of the pictures from this last weekend. I will break it up into a couple of posts so nobody is overwhelmed with all the pictures.
Last Friday, my sister and niece flew in from Phoenix. My mom picked them up at the airport and they headed to our house. I couldn't wait for them to get here so I could meet Sophia. Hadley was even more excited to see her cousin Sophia or Phi-Phi as her Auntie Jessica taught her.
Here I am holding Sophia for the first time. She is exactly a week younger than Jillian. There is quite a size difference between Jillian and Sophia, but Sophia was 5 weeks early.Hadley was attached to her Auntie Jessica or Lady for the entire weekend.
Here she is doing Auntie Jessica's hair.
Here she is driving her cars on Lady.

Baptisms

This last Sunday we had the girls baptized. They both did great. When Pastor Dave sprinkled the water on Hadley's head she said, "You got me wet." It was very cute.
It was great to have most of our family here for such an important occasion.
Here are some of the pictures from our weekend. Just a note Jillian was sick and not acting like herself this weekend and missed out on a lot of the picture taking.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Mom/Grandlady.
Today is my mom's birthday. She is 52. I know she doesn't mind me telling her age because she looks so young. I hope that when I am 52 I am half the woman that my mom is. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and most important of all Grandlady. I have always known my mom was very special, but it wasn't until I became a mom that I realized how special. I have so much respect for her. She is the kind of person that anyone can go to and she will listen and help you out. She is the one I turn to whenever I have a parenting question or just want to know that what I am dealing with is normal. She is always there no matter what she is dealing with in her own life. I love to see Hadley with her Grandlady. They are two of a kind together, both with a love for playing and fun and I know someday soon Jillian will be right there with them.
Mom, thanks for being there and always having the right thing to say. Thanks for being an amazing Grandlady. I hope you have a wonderful day. I love you.

First game!

During Labor Day weekend we went to the first K-State football game of the season. So far it is our only win of the season :(
We took Jillian with us. The weather was beautiful and I knew she would sleep thru most of it. She slept thru a little over half of the game and people watched the rest of the time. We didn't know what to expect because we have never taken a kiddo to the game.
Here is a picture that Audra took at their tailgate. Thanks Audra!

5-months

Look at this big 5-month old.

Every time I took her picture her eyes would get huge with the flash.

Here she is doing some tummy time. She loves to be on her tummy and look around at all that is going on. She is also starting to be able to grab toys on purpose and put them right to her mouth. She is getting good at grabbing her binky. She is becoming an expert at rolling over. She loves to eat her fingers and toes. She loves to talk and let her voice be heard. I love listening to her but the 3:30am talking time needs to stop :) She gets up 1 or 2 times to eat during the night. She nurses a ton during the day. What can I say, this girl likes her food as much as I do. She lights up when Hadley or Mike talk to her. She is just one busy girl.

PJs

About a month ago I bought Hadley some new pajamas for the fall and winter. One of the sets I got was a 3 piece set with pants, shirt and nightgown. She has always worn pants so I didn't know if she would like the nightgown.
I wasn't going to get these out until it got cooler but Hadley found them and decided to try the "dress" on. Well it was a hit and now it is all she wants to wear to bed. We even had to go buy another one so that I am not doing laundry all the time.
I wanted to get a picture of her in her nightgown and she wanted to make silly faces.

And just one more picture of my precious girl. I love her so much!

Excited!

One week from today this nugget will be cuddled in my arms! I will be happy to she her mommy too.

Mike's birthday night

I just realized I never blogged about what we did for Mike's birthday, probably because it was so low key. Each month we have a Fellowship Dinner at church. September's happened to land on Mike's birthday. I told him we could skip and go out to eat but he wanted to go to church. I took a dessert to the dinner at church and he wanted me to take fruit pizza which is one of his favorites. I thought we still needed to celebrate at home so Hadley picked out at cookie cake with a football on it at the store. After church we headed home to celebrate.

Hadley, looks like she needs more sugar before bed :)

Mike got a new toy (2003 Cobra Mustang)-I'll will post pictures another time- in August and all he wanted for his birthday was new tires. I knew better than to pick those out so he is buying his own birthday present. We still wanted to get him something little. We got him a new K-State t-shirt for football season and a griddle for pancake making. He is the household pancake maker even Hadley will say, "Mommy no make pancakes, Daddy do." So here is what we got him and he used it Saturday morning.

For Lady

This is what Hadley brought me the other day and said, "Mommy, the letter for Karen, like Lady." Lady is what she calls my mom (aka Grandlady). Hadley is really interested in people's names. A couple days before this we had been talking about names and I pointed to the K and said this letter is for Karen and that is Lady's name. Just a reminder that little ears are always listening and remembering what they hear.

Labor Day in Kansas

We spent Labor Day weekend in Kansas at Mike's mom and stepdad's house. Mike's stepdad, Ed, just got back from being in Afghanistan for 6 months. It was great to see him and we are so glad he is back safe and sound. However, I did not get any pictures of him or Mike's mom the whole time we were there. I think they were hiding from my camera.

On Saturday morning Hadley got to go with Granny to Wal-Mart. They were gone a long time and this is what Hadley came home with...
Future rock star.

On Saturday afternoon Mike, Jillian and I headed to Manhattan for the first K-State football game. Hadley stayed with Granny and Grandad. I don't think she noticed we were gone. Jillian slept the whole trip there and back. She also slept through about half of the game. I forgot my camera but will post a pic I had Audra take when I get it.

On Sunday Mike's mom had a bbq for the family. Here are some of the pictures.

Hadley loved her big cousin Kielan.

Catch up...

This is my first attempt at catching up. I just realized that I have a ton of pictures I have not posted. It will take me 3 or 4 posts to get caught up.

A couple of weeks ago our good friends Brent, Megan and their daughter Norah Kate dropped in for a visit. We had a great time visiting with them and the girls finally warmed up to each other at the end of their visit. Here are a couple of pictures of the girls together.
During the last couple of weeks in August the weather was beautiful. We tried to take full advantage of it and spend lots of time outside. We even took our art projects outside.

Hadley loves to paint.

Here she is trying out playing with shaving cream for the first time. She really didn't like having her hands dirty. I don't know where she gets that :)

Here is our little whistler.

One day at lunch Hadley decided her baby needed to eat with her.
Hadley loves to read to anyone who will listen. Even her baby doll Emme.
One of Hadley's favorite shows these days is Super Why. One of the characters is a princess who helps you learn to read. Here she is being Princess P.

Next post, Labor Day and our trip to Kansas.
