New Year's Day

Happy New Year!  Something about starting a new year makes my OCD kick into full gear (just ask Mike).  With this in mind we spent the first day of 2011 cleaning and organizing.  We were able to clean out a few closets, put Christmas stuff away and take a few things to storage.  It was a very productive day.  It was apparent I was in full organize and clean mode when Hadley came and asked me to help her organize her toys in her room.  I don't know many 3 year olds who want to organize for fun.
When we were cleaning out our closet today we went through a box of Mike's old stuff.  In it were some of his stuffed animals from when he was a little boy.  He had a stuffed dog named Doggy.  Doggy was very loved, so much so he had lots of stitches where Mike's mom had to repair him and save him from falling apart.  He also had a few other stuffed dogs and a teddy bear in this box.  Hadley was helping us and wanted the teddy bear and picked a dog for Jillian.  As I am writing this the girls are sleeping with their new friends.  They also traveled to Target this evening with us.  It is really neat to see them attached to something that their daddy had as a kid.
