Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve didn't start as planned at our house. Jillian woke up with a swollen and red eye.  I called the pediatrician as soon as they opened and took the first available appointment.  While Jillian and I headed to the doctor, Mike and Hadley headed to fill a prescription for her.  The night before Hadley and I had to make a trip to Ergent Care and she was diagnosed with a UTI.  Poor girl was in a lot of pain.  After going to the doctor with Jillian she was diagnosed with an infection in her eye.  We headed to fill her prescription and passed Mike and Hadley in the parking lot :)
Our original plan for the day was to get a few things done around the house, go to Jill and Philip's house and then to Christmas Eve service.  This changed since Jillian was contagious until we got a  few doses of her eye drops in.  So we spent the afternoon hanging out at home.  The girls each got to open a present before lunch.  They each got a new game for the family to play.

Next up was lunch and then a nap for Jillian.  Hadley had some fun with play dough while Mike and I did a few things in the kitchen.
Jillian woke up from her nap but was not very happy about me taking her picture.
Hadley and I headed to our church's Christmas Eve service.  She was excited that she got to be in church the whole time and she did a great job.  Here we are before we left (what am I going to use for a backdrop when the Christmas tree is gone).
After we got home and had dinner it was time to open another Christmas Eve present.
Our tradition of matching pajamas continues.
After the girls were cozy in their new jammies we loaded up in the car and looked at Christmas lights.  The girls really enjoyed all the beautiful lights and loved singing Jingle Bells over and over :)
When we got home it was time to say goodbye to Calla our Elf on the Shelf.  Hadley was very sad about this and she wanted a picture with Calla to look at until next year.  We can't touch Calla or her magic will be gone so this picture will have to do.
After this it was time to leave Santa cookies and milk and food for the reindeer.  Then off to bed.  It was a fun Christmas Eve even with the sickness.  Good news is by the end of the night both girls were feeling better.
