Lady came to visit this weekend. The girls could not wait for her to get here on Friday night. They finished up dinner the minute she walked in the door and got right to reading books.
Then it was bath and bed time. On Saturday morning we got up and went to the donut shop for breakfast. Then is was off to Target for a Cat in the Hat storytime. Next up home to watch K-State play basketball. While Mike and I watched the game the girls and Lady acted out princess stories.
Here are the princesses after drinking poison.
And then after their prince kisses them.
We spent the rest of Saturday playing and relaxing. We also talked on the webcam with Auntie Jessica and Sophia.
On Sunday we went to church and then took Lady to brunch at Mimi's Cafe. It was delicious.
After brunch we headed home for naps and to say goodbye to Lady :( She had to get back for Uncle Alex's Symphony concert. When the girls got up from their naps we had a 1st birthday party to go to. We left Daddy at home to get some work done.
We ended our weekend with some cute pictures at dinner.

Don't let them beat you down.
This morning was a rough morning at our house. It started out rough and I knew this because before Mike left for work he came to me and said, "Honey, just stay strong and don't let them beat you down." This is funny when I look back on it, but so true.
We are dealing with a little bit of an attitude problem at our house. It seems that Hadley's body has been taken over by a 16 year old. This girl has more attitude than I know what to do with. She can roll her eyes with the best of them and starts to argue with me before I can finish my sentence. I am hoping that this means the teenage years will be a breeze (a mom can dream). For some reason this attitude can really push my buttons. I find myself having to walk away for a minute and remind myself that she is only 3 years old. Something I said to her this morning must have sunk in, because our afternoon was GREAT! I know that as a mom there will be rough times and I will say that the GREAT times by far out weigh the tough times. It is just hard to think of that in the middle of the tough times. I am so thankful for both of my girls and can't imagine my life without them.
Since things went great during nap/quiet time we decided to head outside and soak up the nice weather. We played with the new bubbles that Granny brought the girls. It was a fun time and we even had some neighbor friends come play for a few minutes.
After having fun outside and getting dirty we headed in for a bath. Then it was dinner and some daddy time. The girls love their daddy time. I tried to get a picture of them listening to Mike tell a story but none of them turned out. I did catch a couple cute ones during prayer time. Hadley has just started saying the prayer at night and it is very cute. She always thanks God for daddy's hard work. Jillian says amen in the cutest way!
I have to show you Hadley's new nightgown.
I was so excited to find it. It reminds me a little of a certain dress that has made many appearances on this blog.
To end I want to list a few words that Jillian is saying. I love to listen to her talk these days.
Ow-Ow (owie)
JJ (Jillian)
Amy how (church, she calls it Ms. Amy's house, Amy is her teacher in the nursery)
meemees (jammies)
Hada shool (Hadley's school)
nack (snack)
wilwat (wildcat)
abba (Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street)

Ballet Monday
Mondays are ballet/tap class days for Hadley. She has decided that she loves to wear her leotard and tights around the house to dance. Here are a few pictures of her dancing at home.

More outside time
We spent yesterday afternoon outside again. We are taking advantage of it before it gets cold again. The girls had fun drawing with chalk, blowing bubbles, and painting the driveway with water. Hadley also drew a hopscotch game and had a blast with it. She made it with 17 squares because she loves to right her numbers.
Today Granny came for a visit so the girls are in heaven. They have played "Sleeping Beauty", played at the park and played in the backyard.
Jillian is napping now and Hadley and Granny are reading books. Mike and I are taking advantage of having a babysitter and going out tonight. We are having dinner with our Sunday School class and then going to a movie. We are excited for a date.

Beautiful Weather
This week has been a great week. Nothing extra exciting has happened. After being out of our routine for 2 weeks it has been wonderful to get back to it. Hadley was so excited to get back to school that she ran from the car into school. Jillian enjoyed her mommy time while Hadley was at school. One of the errands Jillian and I ran was enrolling Hadley in PreK for next year. It was a bittersweet moment. I am so excited for her to learn and know she will love it. I am having a hard time with the fact that my baby girl will be in school for 5 mornings a week. It will be a change. Good thing it won't be until August.
Another thing that has been great this week is the weather. It was in the 70s yesterday and 80 today. We have been outside enjoying the sunshine. I had to pull out summer clothes for the girls. It is suppose to stay nice all weekend so we are hoping to spend a lot of time outside.
I only have one picture from our week. Enjoy.

Happy V-Day!
Happy Valentines Day!!!
And here are a few others from our photo shoot. In some of them they are pretending to be the girls from Toddlers and Tiaras.
I am so glad we took these pictures before church on Sunday. Sunday evening we were having a dance party in the kitchen. We were making cookies, listening to music, and dancing. Hadley showed us a new move, the running man. While she was doing this she slipped on the kitchen rug and busted her lip open. She has a pretty large gash inside her upper lip and a very swollen lip. She looks like she has been in a fight but that didn't stop her from dancing later that night :)

Round 2
We got hit by another round of snow this week. I think we have broken all the record books for amount of snow and cold temperatures in Oklahoma. They have not had school for 9 days in a row. So Hadley hasn't had school or dance for the last 2 weeks. I think she is ready to get back to her activities. We have been having a lot of fun at home. And in all of this my children have discovered how to sleep. They have never been great sleepers and have always been earlier risers. This last week they have both been napping and sleeping in until after 7am. We are loving it and hope it continues.
With all this snow we have been lucky to have Mike home for two of the days. We love extra time with him! Here are some pictures from our day last Tuesday.
We have played with play-doh many times in the last two weeks.
Next up it was time to play baby dolls.
While I made dinner the girls kept themselves occupied with books and lizards.
And what would my girls want for dessert on a cold, snow day? Popsicles of course.
We ended the night with some cuddle time.
This next picture is from Thursday. The girls have decided that they love to sing and dance on their stage (aka the fireplace). Here is a shot of them reading and dancing to the wheels on the bus.
I am hoping this the last post that involves snow days. It is suppose to get up to 70 this week and I am very excited. The snow is finally melting away and we can actually see the road in our neighborhood. Mike is at a training in Dallas this weekend so the girls and I are flying solo. On our agenda today is making Valentine sugar cookies!

More snow days...
We continued to be snowed in on Thursday and Friday. I didn't take many pictures because we continued to do many of the same things. We played with lots of play-doh, lots of games, lots of block building and lots of craft time. I had my moments of going stir crazy but then they would pass. I did realize during these days that sometimes I don't "play" enough with the girls. I am usually trying to clean and do other things around the house while they are playing by me. With everything done, I was able to play more and had a good time. I hope that I can continue to take more time to play!
Tuesday to Thursday we did a pretty good job of not watching too much tv. That changed on Friday. Hadley woke up coughing and just didn't feel good. We declared it movie day and spent most of the day watching movies and playing on the living room floor. Here was our movie viewing area.
After a morning of movies it was time for something else. I decided a bath and some bath crayons would be fun. The girls loved it and I had to take them out when they turned into prunes.
While we were doing all this inside it was snowing again outside. We got 4 more inches during the day on Friday and another inch that night. Crazy! Now some people are wondering why we were snowed in for so long. The roads here have been horrible. We are very lucky that Mike has a 4-wheel drive vehicle. I don't think the city was prepared for the amount of snow that we got. It was so bad that church was canceled today and they have canceled school again tomorrow. It is mostly due to the roads in the neighborhoods.
When Mike got home on Friday I was begging to get outside. I shoveled the new snow from the driveway and then begged him to take us out to eat. We headed to Applebee's but it was closed so next down the road was Chile's. It was nice to be out of the house for a little bit. When I told Jillian we were going bye-bye she started clapping and cheering. It was very cute.
On Saturday morning we decided to spend the morning running errands. One of the errands we ran was picking up our mail from the post office. We had not gotten mail since Monday and they were not delivering on Saturday. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get our mail. We also did some grocery shopping with the rest of the town :) Target was packed but they seemed to have some pretty stocked shelves. The only things they did not have were eggs and milk. Luckily Aldi had eggs. After a morning of running around we spent the rest of the day at home. We ended Saturday with a family movie night. We watched Toy Story 3.
Hadley woke up coughing in the middle of the night Saturday and hasn't stopped. She hasn't felt good all day. Mike took her to urgent care and they gave her antibiotics for an infection. I hope she starts feeling better soon.
Here is a picture of the girls and Mike cuddling today.
They are calling for more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday but I am hoping they are wrong!
