Trip to Kansas

Last Thursday the girls and I headed to Kansas for a 4 day weekend.  Mike had a conference in Texas so he didn't get to make the trip with us.  We stayed at my mom and Mark's house.  Right when we got there the playing started.

Brylee saying cheese.
 Uncle Alex and his girls.
 Jillian enjoying some Lady time.
Hadley trying to make a mad face.

Friday the girls and I went to a play time at the gym and then to lunch with Audra and Caroline.  Next up was nap and making cupcakes for the birthday party.  Friday night the girls stayed with Lady and I got to go out for girls' night.  It was so nice to have an evening out with my best friends.  We enjoyed dinner and a lot of chatting.  I didn't take a single picture.
Saturday we had a birthday party for the girls at the park.  It was a little chilly but we had fun.  Here are lots of pictures from the party.

The swings were the place to be during the party.

Brennen lost a tooth the night before.  He never wants me to take a picture of him but I told him I needed to show Auntie Jessica his missing tooth.

Brylee was trying to warm up with Lady.

Jillian talked Granny into going down the slide with her.

 Time for cupcakes.

Present time.

After the party we went back to Lady's to visit with Granny Jean and Papa Kirby.  Then Jillian took a nap while Hadley and I went to visit Grandpa Great.  I was really bad about not getting my camera out this trip so no pictures from Saturday afternoon.
Saturday night was Prom in Winfield.  It is hard to believe that my little brother is old enough to go to Prom.  In Winfield how you arrive to Prom is a big deal.  They set up bleachers for everyone to sit and watch. Alex, Loryn and a few other people went in a black van that they wrote FBI on.  When the drove up the driver and Alex had dark glasses on and were very serious.  They got out in FBI mode and opened the back doors to let their prisoners (the girls) out.  It was neat.  They got the award for Most Creative entrance.  The girls had a blast watching all the "princesses" arrive at the dance.  Brylee even came dressed for the dance.
Jillian made a new friend, Lorry, Loryn's mom.

 My little brother and Loryn.

By the time we got to Lady's on Saturday night the girls were exhausted.  On Sunday we spent some more time with Lady and then headed back home.  It was a busy and fun trip.

Funny pictures

We are right in the middle of birthday craziness!  This year seems extra busy and crazy.   Jillian had a great birthday today and I hope to blog about it soon.  I also want to blog about our trip to Kansas and the girls' party there.  All in time...
Until then I will leave you with pictures of Jillian potty training her Barbie.  This is how we found her one morning.  At least we know she knows what a potty is for and hopefully she will start using it soon.

My baby is 2!

I can't believe that Jillian is 2 today.  It seems like just yesterday I was holding her for the first time.  She has grown and changed so much in 2 years.  She is such a sweet girl.  She is really talking these days.  Sometimes we know what she is saying and other times not so much.  She can get pretty upset if you can't figure out what she is saying.
She loves to play with baby dolls and makes sure to tell me that she is the "mom-mom".  Mom-mom is what she calls me.  She likes to repeat syllables.  Her pajamas are "me-mees."  Her Lady is "Lay-lay."
She loves to play make believe, especially with her sister.  They usually play house or doctor.  She also loves the Little Mermaid.  She can name all of the Disney princesses, thanks to her sister.  She loves to read books.
She has finally become a very good sleeper.  She goes to bed at 7:30am each night and gets up at 6:30am each morning.  She also takes a good 2-3 hour nap each day.
She loves her daddy and gets very excited when he gets home from work.
She loves to be outside.
We are noticing a few fears.  She is afraid of most animals especially dogs.  She is afraid of balloons for the most part and says, "Balloons get me."  She doesn't like to be up high. I learned this when I tried to change her diaper in a public restroom.  She does not like the changing tables.
We are starting to see a few of the "terrible two" characteristics coming out in Jillian.  She can throw a mighty big fit and likes to be very independent.  Throw that in with a sister that has quite an attitude and our house can be really fun at times.  But believe me that laughs and fun heavily out weigh the fits and attitude.
I can't wait to see what the next year has to hold for Jillian.
Here is Jillian right after she was born.

Happy birthday Jillian Ruth!

MIA

I have not been good at this blogging thing as of late.  Life has been busy and shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.  We spent the weekend enjoying the beautiful weather.  Well the girls and I enjoyed the weather while Mike spent the weekend refinishing our picnic table and benches.  Here are a few pictures.

Fun outside

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather again.  The girls start asking to go outside in the morning and want to be out there as much as we will let them.  The only problem right now is that Mike and I are having horrible allergy problems and being outside makes it a lot worse.  Hopefully we can get a good rain soon and then there won't be so much pollen in the air and maybe the wind will die down soon.
Here are some pictures from our times outside.
