18 months
Hadley hit the 18 month milestone last Sunday the 26th. Boy, what a great age and what a trying age. She is learning new words everyday and beginning to put 2 and 3 words together. Her are some of her newest words and phrases:
"I do it" - said when trying to dress her or put shoes on
"Da workin" - said 1 million times throughout the day meaning daddy working
"Da da" - said from naptime on whenever she thinks she hears the garage door
"NO NO" - said when another child is playing with a toy she wants
"nools" - noodles one of her favorite foods
"peas" - please but can also mean right now
" b " - said for binky which now is mysteriously gone until nap or bed time
That is all I can think of right now. Remember I have pregnancy brain!
Today had also been a very trying day. Here is how our day has gone:
3:30-5:30 am wake up and not want to sleep for mommy or daddy
5:30-8:15 am finally sleep
8:15-8:45 am snuggle and love on mom in bed (THE BEST PART OF THE DAY)
8:45-12:30 play, get into anything and everything I am not suppose to including Halloween decorations, climbing onto kitchen table, turning bathtub water on while mommy is showering, smearing applesauce from lunch all over the entire kitchen table and floor
12:30 time for stories, rocking and nap
12:45 mommy puts me in bed, I get out and destroy my room, figure out how to climb on top of my bookshelf and turn light and fan on and off
1:30-3 finally give in to sleep
3:00 wake up with great big smile and mom is convinced the rest of the day will be great
We are headed to dinner with friends and then to the zoo for a little trick or treating fun.

Island Park Tragedy
In my home town there is a wonderful park and play area. In the last 10 years the community came together to build a castle play area. Yesterday it burned to the ground. My sister wrote a great post that you can read here.
Here are a few pictures I have of our time at the park. I have been sick to my stomach thinking about what kind of person would do such a rotten thing.
During the time it was being built you could donate money and have your name or family members names put on it. Here is our family brick.

18 month pictures
Yesterday we took Hadley to get her 18 month pictures taken. We had an appointment scheduled for 9:30am. When we got there, right on time, we had to wait a good 30 if not 45 minutes. Luckily Grandpa and Grandma were there to help entertain.
When we did get started things went great. Hadley was all smiles until I went to put her in a dress and tights. The picture session ended with screaming and crying. No professional pictures of her in the cute dress. But Grandma and Grandpa got a couple.
Here are some of the pictures.
This is my favorite.

Pumpkin Patch
On Saturday we headed out to a local pumpkin patch for some Fall fun. It was really crowded, I guess everybody had the same idea. Alex and my mom were still in town and went with us. When we got home Mike carved one pumpkin and Hadley and I turned one into a princess. Here are the pictures from the day.
Happy Birthday!

Resting
Hadley and I have been doing a lot of this lately.
She is finally starting to act like herself again. Now if we can start sleeping at night. I haven't been feeling the best either. I am 12 weeks tomorrow, maybe that will be the magic number :)
I promise to get back to regular blogging soon. I have more pictures from our trip to share and some from our BFE and kid slumber party.

Congrats!
Congrats to my sister Jessica and her husband Matt. They are going to have their first baby in June! YIPPEE! I am so excited for them.
Jessica is due June 1. That will make our babies about a month apart. Now if we can only get them to move closer before that baby comes.
Congrats Jess and Matt, we know you will be great parents!

The Beach
While we were in Maryland we were able to be at the beach for 3 days. It was a great time. The weather was wonderful. The water was a little cool but that didn't stop Hadley. They first day that we went out to the water we were just going for a few minutes before nap. I thought Hadley wouldn't really be interested in the water since she is usually afraid of pools. Boy was I wrong. It must have been something about the sand and waves because she was loving it. She wasn't even in her swimsuit and was soaking wet by the time we left. She loved finding shells and digging with them. She also loved how the water ran up to her feet and then went away. She was loving it all until she did a somersault into a wave and that was the end of our ocean fun for the day.

Not to worry she was back at it the next day and loving it.
Here are a ton of pictures from our time at the beach.

Big Girl Bed
Last night was a big first at our house. Hadley slept all night in her big girl bed. About a month ago she started to refuse to sleep in her crib. She would scream anytime she was put in there. We tried everything but nothing worked to get her to sleep in her crib again. So, thus began the long nights of Hadley sleeping with mommy and daddy. She doesn't sleep with her head on the pillows, she likes her head in daddy's side and feet in mommy's back. That does not make for a good nights sleep.
On Wednesday, Mike picked up a toddler bed and got it all put together. In the process Hadley feel asleep in our bed. We decided to leave her there for the night and Mike slept on the couch. Poor guy.
Last night Mike had to work late so I started the night time routine while he was gone. I gave Hadley a bath, we read stories, rocked and then it was time to get in her big girl bed. She was having none of that. So, she feel asleep on the guest bed but we were able to move her into her bed and she slept there all night. Here is praying that she will start to go to sleep in her big girl bed and then we can move on to getting rid of her binky!
