Sad news

Last night was a sad night for our family, my Grandma Sisson passed away. She has been sick for awhile and it was her time. I am relieved to know that she is not in pain and in a much better place. When I was back in Kansas last weekend I was able to go and see her. I am pretty sure she knew we were there. She will be greatly missed and was a wonderful Grandma.
Here is a picture of her meeting Hadley for the first time. My grandma's name is Doris Elizabeth, my aunt in Janet Elizabeth, I am Amber Elizabeth and Hadley gets to carry on the name with Hadley Elizabeth. I always knew my first girl would have the middle name Elizabeth and glad Grandma was able to meet her. Hadley doesn't look the happiest in this picture but we all remember she was not a happy baby.

Here is one of my favorite pictures of Grandma and me. This was Christmas 2004. Grandma had a love for giraffes and was always getting fun gifts. I was trying on her new hat. To this day when we see a giraffe in a book or at the zoo I remind Hadley that those are Grandma Great's favorites. Please pray for all of our family and especially for my Grandpa. I know this is a tough time for him and pray he is comforted and loved by all.

My sister wrote a great post here.

How we have grown...

Since my sister and I live a few states apart we don't see each other very often. However, that has not been the case in the last couple of months. We have seen each other in December, February and March. It has been great. And we have been able to document our growing bellies together. I am due May 1st and she is due June 1st. Here is how we have grown in the last few months.

Feeding the fish

While we were in Kansas, Hadley got to spend the day with her daddy and Granny. I was busy with a baby shower for my sister so Mike took Hadley to spend the day at his mom's. While they were there Hadley got to feed the fish in the pond. It looks like she had a great time.

Rain boots

Hadley's rain boots got here last week. She was so excited when we got the box open. For 2 days that is all she wanted to wear. This is what she looked like as we headed out to play.

Happy Belated Birthday!

While I was in Kansas I missed the chance to post two important birthdays.

My stepdad's birthday was last Friday, March 20th. Hadley was there to tell him Happy birthday first thing that morning. Mark, I hope you had a great birthday! We love you!

Here is a picture of Mark with my nephew Ethan.

Saturday, March 21st was my sister-in-law Cammie's birthday. I got to spend most of the day with her doing shower stuff. She is a ton of fun to be with :) Cammie I hope you had a great day. We love you!

Playing catch up....

It feels like I have been gone forever. My sister was in town from Phoenix and we headed to Kansas for a few days. We all had a great time. I didn't use my camera once. However, my sister was the photographer for the weekend and is sending me pictures. She has posted a few here, so go check them out. My 34 week belly picture is there also. I am off to do laundry and get caught up around the house.

Ni-Ni

Hadley has a new game of ni-ni (night-night) that she like to play. She get all the pillows from the couch and puts them on the floor. Then she gets lots of blankets out and puts her toys to sleep. She puts them on the pillows and covers them with blankets, kisses them and puts them to sleep. Sometimes she will even read them a story first. It is great to see her imitating her night time routine with her toys. She also likes to do this with mommy and daddy. Here are a few pictures of her playing ni-ni with her duck Ming-ming from Wonder Pets.

Concert

Last week, Hadley and I were able to go check out a free kids concert at one of the local libraries. They have a new children's theatre. It is a great place. We were able to see Dino O'Dell perform. We had heard him before at Pottery Barn Kids storytime. It was a great concert and Hadley was up dancing for most of it. Here are a few pictures.

Spring Fashion

It is time for another {get REAL} question from my good friend Laura. This weeks question is: What Spring style are you lusting over?
This is hard one for me, for a couple of reasons. One, I am very, very pregnant at the moment and love to be in pajama pants and t-shirts all the time. Two, I am not a fashion person. I live for comfort and that is all. In fact, the minute I walk in the door I am out of my clothes and into yoga or pajama pants. Even if I have to leave the house again I will do multiple changes to be in comfy clothes around the house. Crazy, I know!
Anyways... I think the Spring style I am most ready for is flip-flops. I love these colors from Old Navy.

I must own at least 8 pairs of flip-flops and wear them until it snows. Then I live for the day I can wear them again.

Dear Weatherman

Dear Mr. or Mrs. Weather person,
Could you please return my warm weather back. My mommy says I can't go outside and play because it is too cold. She even made me put my coat on this morning to go to playgroup. Last week I got to play at the park, zoo and in my yard. I have even started gardening with my new tools from Granny and gloves from mommy and daddy. Mommy just ordered me these cute rainboots to play in outside. They should be here in a week and it needs to be warm enough for me to play outside.
Here are a few pictures of my playing outside this weekend. Maybe my cuteness will help you send some warm air my way.

Love,
Hadley

Tulsa Zoo

On Friday night Mike and I decided that Saturday would be a good day to go to the zoo. We have a membership and Hadley and I have been several times. Mike has only been with us on Hallowzooeen, when it was dark and we were trick-or-treating. The weather was going to be nice so it was a date.
When I was putting Hadley to bed on Friday night I told her when we woke up we would go to the zoo. Big mistake. She decided to get up at 5:45am on Saturday. Not my idea of fun considering I was up from 1:45-3:45 unable to sleep and listening to my neighbors have a party after the bars closed. Anyway...we were able to get Hadley to watch cartoons for a little bit and then it was time to start our day. It was doughnut morning so that was first on our list of things to do. Then we got ready, packed a lunch and headed to the zoo. It was an overcast and windy day but the temperature was perfect and we beat the crowd by getting there early.

Here are Hadley and Daddy, ready to go.

Goofing off.

Checking out the lions with daddy.
Time to stop and play.

Time for the petting zoo. For those of you that know Hadley, this was her least favorite part. She started crying when I walked towards the goats and sheep. We only looked at the caged rabbits.

We had a great time. Hadley loved that Daddy was there with us. She is a Daddy's girl! I love to watch them together. If she asked for the moon he would get it for her.

Happy Birthday!

Today is one of my best friend's birthday. Happy 29th birthday Megan. We love you.

Megan is on the far right with her daughter Norah Kate. (Meg, I need more pictures of just you!)

32 weeks

32 weeks and counting......

Warm weather

We have been taking full advantage of this nice, Spring like weather. We have spent most of the last couple of afternoons outside and even went to the park for playgroup yesterday.

Pigtails in and ready to go.

Never ride your hog without your shades :)

Fun at the park.

We are headed to the zoo this morning. I will post pictures soon. Get out and enjoy your day :)
