Loving this weather

We are loving the beautiful weather here.  Sad to hear that it is only here to stay for 1 more day :(  We spent most of the day outside today.   We headed out for a walk after Jillian's morning nap and then stopped to play at one of our neighborhood parks.  Then after lunch and K-State basketball we headed to the other neighborhood parks.  We are all tired tonight.

Jillian loves the stroller as long as it is moving.
Hadley riding her duck friend and yelling, "yee-haw".
Jillian wanted to be big kid and walk all over.
Hello down there!
In the afternoon we took the wagon for a ride.  The girls loved riding together.  Hadley sang to Jillian the whole time.
Tomorrow we are headed to the zoo to enjoy the warm weather again.

Missing...

Did you think we had gone missing?  We are still here.  I just haven't felt like blogging.  Yes sickness has hit are house again.  This time Mike and I have colds.  When I read this years from now I will remember it as the winter that we were sick all the time.  I am ready for Spring to be here to stay.  Here are a few random pictures from the last week.

On Saturday I was able to get away by myself for a couple of hours.  I spent most of the time just walking around Target and the bookstore.  It was very nice, thank you Mike for giving me a much needed break.  While I was at Target I hit up the dollar section and found some new dress up stuff for Hadley.
We have been having some toddler tantrums around here again.  After a major fit and crying in her room, this is how I found Hadley.  Guess she was worn out.
Jillian has become a pro at drinking out of her sippy cup.
She also loves to laugh.
Last night Hadley helped me make homemade pizza.
In other news, we have a full time walker on our hands.  Jillian loves to walk now and it is a cute walk/waddle.  I could not get the video to upload so if you want to see her walk come on down and visit :)

Hunting

Since this is our family scrapbook I am going to post some pictures from Mike's hunting trip.  If you don't like hunting or dead animals don't read on.

Last weekend Mike headed to Gonzales, Texas to go wild boar hunting.  He had never been before and was up for a new challenge.  However, from what he says it wasn't much of a challenge.  But when the boars are 500 pounds and up I doubt they move very fast.  In fact he had to wake his boar up to get it move so he didn't feel so bad killing it.  Poor hog!

Here is a picture of Mike and his 700 lb boar.
While he was gone Hadley said he was hunting leaves.  I don't know where she got that idea but I didn't correct her.  I would have a hard time explaining why one of the 3 Pigs is no longer alive :)

Fun with Sarah

In the last week we have been able to get together with our friends Jennifer and Sarah a couple of times.  We usually meet and play about every other week.  But we have been trying to get together as much as possible because they will soon be moving to Connecticut.  We are very sad for them to go but so excited for them to move closer to their families.
Last week they came over to our house to play.  Of all the toys Hadley and Sarah wanted to play with it was Jillian's train.  Here they are going for a ride.
Then there was a train wreck.
Then yesterday we met them at Kaleidoscope Children's Museum.  Hadley and I had been one time before right after they had opened.  I wasn't impressed then and felt the same about yesterday.  It is not well maintained and needs a lot of work.  The girls seemed to have a pretty good time and then we headed to Red Robin for a fun lunch.
Here is Hadley enjoying the store.
Sarah did a little bowling while Jillian watched.
Sarah on a big dino.
Hadley being a STAR on the stage.
Here is Hadley from August of 2008 when we visited the first time.
What a difference a year and a half makes.
We hope to get together with Jennifer and Sarah a bunch more before they have to leave. But now we have someone to visit in Connecticut.

Sunday

I never finished posting about the rest of our weekend.  On Sunday we got up and the girls and I headed to church.  Mom didn't go because she wasn't feeling well.  Turns out she had strep throat.
Here we are ready for church.
After church the girls got in a little more Lady time before she headed home.
Then it was nap time for all of us.  I told Hadley after naps that we could take a walk because it was so nice out.  When Hadley got up she said her tummy hurt.  I held her for a little bit but she kept asking when we were going for a walk.  I decided we would go.  So we got all ready, got in the stroller, got to the mail box and Hadley lost her lunch.  I guess next time she says, "Mom I don't want to walk I want to ride in the stroller" I will know something is up.  She was not herself the rest of the night but bounced right back the next day.
Here are the girls all ready for our long walk to the mailbox :)
Needless to say we were all very excited when daddy got home that night. We missed him and were very glad to have him home.  I will post pictures of what he was hunting soon.

Fun Day!

Today was a fun day with Lady.  Lady watched Jillian this morning while Hadley and I went to a birthday party.  It was a superhero party and was lots of fun.  I didn't have my camera with me and I am kicking myself.  Each of the kids got a Superhero cape and made a shield.  Then they got to run as fast as they could and jump over tall buildings (shoe boxes painted like buildings).  It was a fun time. Next it was home for lunch and naps.   After naps Lady and Hadley did some coloring.
Jillian tried her hardest to get in on the action.
I tried to get a good picture of Lady and Jillian but Jillian was interested in the light.
Here is Hadley enjoying some dinner.
After Jillian was in bed it was time for pedicures (these are things you have to do when daddy is gone).
Hadley has the relaxation part down great!
It was a great day with the exception of a sad K-State loss.  Maybe it was a good thing that Mike was far away for that :(  We miss him and are ready to see him tomorrow.

Beautiful Weather

The weather today was beautiful!  We tried to make the most of it and spend a lot of time outside.  We had a picnic at the park and then played.  Jillian loved the swings and did a deep belly laugh the whole time.  Hadley loved making friends with everyone she saw.  It was nice to be out breathing in some fresh air.  Mike is on a hunting trip this weekend so my mom is here.  Hopefully we can enjoy the nice weather all weekend.  Here are some more pictures from today.

Trip to Kansas

I have been meaning to get this post written but can't seem to get it done.  Jillian and I have both been sick.  We went to my doctor on Monday and the pediatrician's office on Tuesday.  I am so ready for warm weather and feeling better.  Knock on wood Hadley is still feeling great and has been really well behaved for a sick mommy.

Last Friday we headed to Kansas for my dad's retirement reception and dinner.  My dad is officially retired from the state of Kansas after 30+ years of service.  Thanks dad for all your years of hard work.

Here he is giving a speech at the reception.  I hope he could be heard over my 2 loud daughters.  I think they were trying to steal the show from Grandpa.
Grandma and Grandpa at the reception
Here is Jillian not wanting to sit still while Grandpa talked.
Jordan, Cammie, Brylee, and Brennen were there also.
I don't know how I missed getting pictures of Hadley and she was all decked out in her new dress and sweater like Auntie Jessica's.  I also didn't get any pictures of Mike.  He got sick and spent most of the time resting in the car.
On Saturday we were able to head out to Mike's mom and stepdad's house.  Here is Jillian checking out Granny and playing with Granddad.
Time for Legos with Granny.

On Sunday we headed to my mom's for a quick visit.  We had missed Ethan's birthday party the day before and wanted to give him his gift.
Here he is with his mommy, Eryn.
Then it was time to check out Jillian.
Hadley was busy trying to catch her Uncle J and turn him into a Wildcat fan.
After that we headed to Braum's for ice cream for Norah Kate's birthday.  I am sad to say my camera messed up and none of the pictures from that made it.  We had a great time but all the kiddos were ready for naps when we were done :)  Then we headed back home and have been trying to get well.
