Visit from Lady!

Last Wednesday we were lucky to have Lady come and visit for a few days.  Hadley was so excited when I told her that she kept asking me to show her on the calendar when Lady was coming.  We had a great time with Lady.
Lady and her girls going for a walk.
Lady brought a new book for Hadley and she put it right to work.
Then Hadley had to show Lady how she can play on the computer now.
Next up cuddle time for Jillian and Lady.
Jillian saying,"Cheeeeezzzz."
Jillian has been saying potty and running to the bathroom.  I decided to let her try it out.  Nothing happened but it was cute.
We spent one afternoon playing outside.
Thanks Lady for coming to visit.  We miss you already!  We love you.

New shoes

In the past week I have realized that both girls have grown out of their shoes.  This is just a couple weeks after coming to the conclusion that Hadley had grown out of all of her swimsuits and summer clothes.  These girls are growing like crazy.  We found Jillian some new tennis shoes and did a little photo shoot one morning.

Photo shoots are always fun at our house.

Celebration

This weekend we were able to make a quick trip to Kansas.  We went to celebrate my Grandpa's (or Gramps as Hadley calls him) 85th birthday.  We spent the day swimming and visiting with family.  Hadley was a fish and swam for about 5 hours that day.  She slept well that night.  Jillian wasn't a huge fan of the water this time.  She likes to be able to touch.  I am so glad that we made the day trip and could tell my Grandpa, "Happy Birthday" in person.

Food in the hair

What is it about kids and using their hair as a napkin?  We had guacamole one night at dinner and this is what Jillian looked like when she was done with dinner.

I have a similar picture of Hadley when she was 15 months.

Weekend Away

This past weekend I was able to get away for a weekend with my best friends.  We planned this trip about a month ago and we had all been counting down the days until our girls' weekend.  On Friday I drove to Winfield and stayed the night at Audra and Kane's house.  It was fun to get to play with Lydia and Caroline.  They are precious.

After a very a wonderful night of sleep in the new Hittle guest quarters we headed to Manhattan. We got to Christie's house before she was off work and we made ourselves at home.
We spent the rest of the day having fun talking, eating, getting pedicures and seeing a movie.  It was a great time.

Of course a day with the BFEs is not complete with out dip and bread (thanks Meg).
The next morning we had breakfast at a cute, new place, The Chef.  It was delicious.

While I was having a great time with my friends, the girls were home enjoying their time with daddy.

Thanks Audra, Megan, Christie, and Laura for a great weekend.  Thanks Mike for taking great care of the girls while I was gone.

Trying to stay cool

On Sunday when I saw the weather it showed above 100 degrees everyday.  I then worried that it would be a long week inside.  Instead we have tried to do things outside before it gets hot or something that involves water.  On Tuesday we rode trikes and scooters outside in the morning and snacked on popsicles.  On Tuesday afternoon we headed to the pool.  This was our last trip because they are closing for the summer :(  And today we headed to the splash park for some fun. It was hot, but fun.  It was hard to get great pictures because the girls were on the move the entire time.  I think we will head back next week since the pool is closed.

Diva in training

I am always talking about how Hadley loves to dress-up, wear jewelry and be a princess.  It is slowly rubbing off on Jillian.  Many times during the day I will she Jillian walking around in a pair of dress-up shoes.  Yesterday she wanted dress-up clothes and jewelry.  She is very cute in them but I am still holding out hope that she is a little tom-boyish.
