Time Away

Warning long post ahead!

What a weekend! Mike and I decided it was time for some alone time. We had never left Hadley all night. So, on Wednesday my mom and Alex came to our house. We had plans to go to the pool on Thursday and then Mike and I would head to Dallas on Friday.

When Hadley got up on Thursday she just wasn't acting like herself. I was pretty sure it was the two teeth that are trying to come in. We decided not to go to the pool and hung out at home. This is what she did most of the day. Then that night at about midnight she started crying and Mike went in to check on her. She has gotten sick. Poor thing. It was about this time that I was thinking our trip wasn't going to happen.

We let her sleep with us that night and she was up off and on. We got up Friday and she was acting a little better so we decided we would go. I knew my mom would do just the same things I would to make her better. She did fine the whole weekend. Mom just said she didn't act like herself. She was quiet and cuddly. If you know my daughter that is out of the ordinary. She is usually on the go 24/7.

Mike and I went to Grapevine, Texas and stayed at the Gaylord Texan. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Here is the view from our room.

These are some pictures from the atrium.

We had a great time but missed Hadley a lot. She still managed to be the center of most of our conversations. It is funny how you notice all the little kids when you are missing yours. We got to see The Dark Night. It was very good. We also did a lot of eating and shopping.

Here are a few pictures of Hadley while we were gone.

And here she is with her present we brought her. It was a hit.

We had a great time but are glad to be back with our baby. Mike took today off so we are headed to the pool.

A big thanks to Grandlady and Uncle Alex for taking such good care of our baby.

Happy Anniversary

Happy 1st Anniversary to Jordan and Cammie!

This and That

Just a couple of random things.

I dug this cute outfit out that I got on clearance last summer. The skirt is still pretty big but the shirt fits great. I wanted Hadley to pose but come on she is only 15 months. I know my expectations are high.

We went to a playdate with some friends on Wednesday. I can't take Hadley anywhere. She is always climbing in baskets and throwing all of the toys out :)

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Mike and I are here. My mom and brother are home with Hadley. This is our first time away from Hadley. I hope we can handle it :)

Bath Time

Just a little look into bath time at our house.
It starts with this cute little girl, happy as can be to be in the water.

She plays and loves on her ducky.

Then comes the time to wash hair. I don't know where my happy girl goes but out comes a screaming child.

When we are done washing hair in a matter of less than a second the happy girl is back.

This in the routine every night. You would think she would be used to washing her hair by now.

Party, new shoes and boo-boos

We had a busy weekend. On Saturday, we went to a birthday party for twins turning 2. Hadley had a great time. She fell in love with one of the presents they got. It was a play vacuum like this

I think I see one in Hadley's future. She is a girl after my own heart :)

After the party we were on a mission. Now I know I talk a lot about my daughter's shoes. Recently we have run into a problem. All the shoes that she has are rubbing blisters on her feet. We have all different sizes. She has a long skinny foot and most baby shoes are made for chubby little baby feet. So I decided to break down and buy a good pair.

My dilemma was what color to get. I wanted something she could wear with everything. I finally went with brown because they had it in stock. I tried to get a picture of Hadley in her new shoes but she was on the run and ready to leave for church so no such luck. Here is a picture from the trusty internet.
Now for the boo-boo part. As we were walking out of church yesterday Hadley tripped and skinned her knee. She had skinned it before but not enough to make it bleed. This time it bled and she wanted nothing to do with a band-aid. When we got home from church I put her down for a nap only to come back to a crying baby with band-aid in hand and blood on her sheets. So, another band-aid later and mommy holding her she finally fell asleep. Next I tried to put her in her crib, nope not having it. So, I got a 2 1/2 hour nap with her. Now that is a good day!

Fun in the fountains

On Tuesday, we met our family club at the Riverwalk for some fun in the fountains. Most of the pictures weren't that great. Here is one that I thought was cute.

Girly Movies

Just last week I rented a wonderful movie.

It was a great movie. I laughed and cried through the whole thing. I think it is a must for all women to see. Your significant others may or may not like it. Mike was working while I watched it and said it was ok.

Another bonus was getting to see Jeffery Dean Morgan. Isn't he just wonderful to look at? I hated when he died on Grey's Anatomy.
Watching this movie made me think of other love stories that I love. Here are a few of the many I call my favorites.

What are your favorite love stories?

Books

When I am in the office Hadley has a litte play area. There are toys and books. Books just for her.

This is what she has been doing the last few times in the office.

Here is a close-up of one that she always gets out.

I think she is already above my understanding level. Guess her dad and her can talk engineering.
